The Movies that "Save" Us

I recently wrote a blog post talking about the profound impact that the movie “Good Will Hunting’ had on me in the most difficult year of my life.  I believe it is safe to say that GWH “saved” me in some very real ways: http://tonykriz.com/?p=978

The post was surprisingly popular, so I thought I would throw the question out to my world on Facebook:

“Has there ever been a movie that has impacted you so deeply (almost beyond MV5BMTk0NjY0Mzg5MF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNzM1OTM2MQ@@._V1_SY317_CR1,0,214,317_AL_explanation), so much so that you could say the movie “saved” you in some way? I would love to know what your movie is.”

Here is the list.  These are the movies that have “SAVED” us:

This is quite a list.  I think I need to go fill in some of these on my NetFlix queue… You may want to as well.

A couple of observations:

  • A GREAT list.
  • Many Robin Williams movies. Obviously we are all in a nostalgic mood with his passing.
  • Several of these films are on my “All Time Top 40 Films”.  I will go back through and mark those films with an asterisk (*).
