One of my living heroes is Dr. John Perkins.  The first time that I ever had a chance to be with this contemporary saint was many years ago, when he graciously accepted our invitation to speak to the students at Reed College.  The following video tells just a bit of that beautiful story.

The words, presence, example and writings of Dr. Perkins have influenced so many parts of my life, theology and view of the world.  I am deeply indebted to him.

Only last week I was speaking together with a dear friend about forever-love and a long Perkins quote seemed like the most appropriate response to the issue at hand.
